Every bride wants the perfect wedding bouquet and reception centerpieces, but it doesn’t take long for the costs to add up. Multiply the costs for each attendant and wedding reception table and you could be facing a wedding budget breakdown. Here are some tips to help you get the look you want and save a few dollars:
Prioritize your budget. As with all wedding decisions, the most logical place to start in your decision making for wedding flowers is the budget. In general, most couples will spend 10% of their total budget on flowers. If cascading blooms on each table tops your wedding budget priorities, decide what you are willing to forego to make that happen.
Prioritize your floral needs. If you want tabletops that wow, consider smaller bouquets for your bridal party or ceremony location.
Repurpose. Many couples decide to repurpose the flowers used for the ceremony to add decor to the wedding reception. If your florist will deliver to multiple locations, you can expect to pay a second delivery fee. Consider asking a trusted friend to transport your ceremony flowers to your reception venue. Additionally, many couples choose a simple vase for the bridesmaids flowers to provide decorations along the head table.
Add texture (read save green with green). Adding greenery to your floral arrangements can be budget friendly, but is also visually interesting due to the textures created.
Limit varieties. As with most things, buying in bulk can save money. By limiting your flowers to one or two varieties, you may be able to save on your overall cost - or go bigger with individual arrangements.
Be flexible. If a flower you love is simply out of your price range, ask your florist to suggest alternative blooms that have a similar shape or shade. A little flexibility can help you stretch your flower budget.
Simplicity rules. A large portion of your photographers cost will be in the labor to create your design. Simple ribbon tied bouquets will be more budget friendly than cascading designs.
